Maya Anamarí Hernández-Pearson
(they/them/she/her)
Maya was born on April 18th in Dallas, Texas. A life-long Dallas native, Maya graduated from the Dance Conservatory of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Maya is currently studying at Sam Houston State University to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre with a Dance minor.
I have been acting, singing, dancing, creating art, and pestering my parents with requests to make their character choices “just a little more like this” during our endless sessions of pretend for as long as I can remember. An advocate for inclusion and the environment, I work to create a life and career that will leave a positive impact upon the Earth. Art is a wholistic profession that requires us as humans to live lives open to all experiences in order to tell truthful stories. Seeking to bring the multitudes of my Mexican, white, and queer identities into my work in theatre is incredibly important to me, as well as creating space for artists of all races, genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations.
Thank you for stopping by!
